Reviews for Willow 75 Liter Internal Frame Backpack

I found these reviews for Willow 75 Liter Internal Frame Backpack on Amazon. I thought our readers would be interested in these info on backpacks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great backpack, fits ALOT, good quality!, January 16, 2009
We are campers and bought 2 of these backpacks and are very happy with them. They fit a TON of gear and love the room on the outside to hold things as well. We've used them to go on day hikes only but are in the process of using one as a Grab and Go Emergency Bag. Reading a few books, one I especially reccomend is Preparedness Now by Aton Edwards. PREPAREDNESS NOW!: An Emergency Survival Guide for Civilians and Their Families After reading that book and several others we realized we needed a pretty decent sized pack for the 72 hrs of supplies needed(food pouches, clothing, water, first aid etc)I weigh 125 lbs and find it comfortable to wear. We have two small kids so we needed the space and the free hands. The pack is well made, zippers are easy, good quality material and not overly expensive.

I am MORE than satisfied with my new Stansport pack... I have taken several 100mile + backpacking ventures and there are not enough superlatives for the pack... Being new to the backpacking aspect of hiking it took me a couple of days to figure out all you can do with this pack but I can only say it worked fabulous for me... Sorry it it is no longer available... you missed a great, fabulous buy

Reviews on outdoor and backpacking stove

Optimus Nova Stove

Reviewed Aug 21, 2007 By Rob Dziak

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Price Paid: $149.99 Federal Reserve Notes

This is my first liquid gas stove that I've bought, and judging by how sturdy this sucker is built it will be my last. It primes fairly quick and simmers like all get out. I use it at home all the time and have yet to get hassled by it. A wee bit on the expensive side, but a stern stove nonetheless...get busy with this stove and your belly-welly will thank you!

"Being a wildlife biologist primarily working in Africa I need a reliable multi-fuel stove. For years I have used the MSR-XKG, the granddaddy of them all with great pleasure. But, I have to admit, the plastic pump was not exactly reliable. Two years ago I switched to the Optimus Nova."Read the complete review »

"This is a great little stove and the customer service is first rate. I got the stove at Galyans now Dicks (DICK'S SUCKS but that's another story)
The first time I tried it leaked so I called them, the quick connect was bad. Cindy (I think) sent me a new one that day before I sent them the bad one.

I found all these reviews on Optimus Nova Stove, I think my readers and backpacking newbies would appreciate information on out door gear-stove for their backpacking adventure this summer. yourbackpacker.com

Health Care in this country

This is a comment I post in Digg. I would like to share with you.
What I am mad and disguised about the whole health care are the Republicans dead ageist the health care because the COST after Bush waste Billions in Iraq war.
Now the Republicans have the nerve to talk about this health care going to cost too much. After the Bush administration cause financial down fall of this country, high unemployment rate and mortgage defaults.
This is the time citizen in this country need this health care President Obama proposed. Because No job No roof over most people's head, at least there is a reasonable health care to keep people alive and healthy to look for jobs.
Both House and Senate members have good health care to take care of themselves. How could in their good conscious to vote to deny the rest of our citizens to have the same health care they enjoy. We will see what happen in the next election. We spooked loud in the last election. We will speak louder in next election

Non-Smokers get Lung Cancer too. New test for lung cancer

I got this article on Diggs about blood test to detect lung cancer.
Post By Jo Macfarlane

British scientists have developed the first blood test for lung cancer which could save thousands of lives.

The revolutionary test picks up proteins in blood that are only produced as a reaction to the presence of lung cancer cells.

These proteins will appear long before tumours develop, meaning further investigations in the form of scans and biopsies could be started at a much earlier stage.

This is a great news! We have to know there is a new development on cancer. We all think only smokers get lung cancer, it is not true any more. My sister is a non-smoker, she had lung cancer. Lucky for her, she has a great family doctor, detected her condition early and treated her lung cancer and she is cancer free now. If there is a way to detect lung cancer by blood test. I am all for it.

About Yosemite wilderness and how to plan a hiking Trip

I found this article in National Park Service website, it is a very helpful article to assist you in planing a hiking trip for Yosemite Wilderness experience. For more info go to nps.gov website.

The Yosemite Wilderness has over 750 miles of trail. As part of the wilderness experience, a good planning process will enhance both your understanding of the park and your hike, while increasing your enjoyment and safety. Therefore, park rangers will not plan a wilderness trip for you, but will only provide general guidance; you must plan your own trip.

When you have thought about or decided what you want from your trip, you can start planning and researching your hike. A detailed topographic map is a must for any hike. In addition, a good guidebook can help you choose a trip that is right for you. For books and maps, please visit the non-profit Yosemite Association's bookstore. Remember that visiting the Wilderness is an adventure: do not be afraid to explore a new area and discover what wonders it has to offer!

You can find brief descriptions and mileages for trails by downloading this PDF [400 kb]. The trailhead information page has more information about each trailhead.
